Our Impact

Since 1997 we have been serving parents, educators, and children birth to five. Through our family support, educator support, literacy, and health and wellness programs, our goal is to provide a foundation for all children birth to five in Davie County to prepare them for kindergarten. Building and supporting collaboration between families and community resources allows us to develop and implement quality child care, education, health, and family support.

Take a look at our impact from the 2022-2023 year.

163

Home Visits

Parent educators conducted 163 home visits while serving 17 families. During visits, children received developmental screenings and parents received education and resources directly from a Parent Educator. Over the year, 14 Group Connections were held to engage and educate families.

During two 10-week sessions, 21 caregivers of 15 infants, toddlers and preschoolers learned how to parent the nurturing way. The results from the Adult Adolescence Parenting Inventory survey showed participating parents had improved their parenting skills.

16

Free to Low Cost Trainings

Sixteen free to low cost trainings were offered with child care providers in attendance. 13 of the classes were required health and safety trainings including CPR, First Aid, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The other classes were a variety of early education topics.
