Recognizing and Responding to Suspicions of Child Maltreatment Training

This 2-hour training is required by the Division of Child Development and Early Education for new teachers within 90 days of employment and needs renewed every 5 years thereafter. FREE.

North Carolina Rated License Assessment Project

This link provides options for pre-recorded contact hour trainings and upcoming live event trainings. All trainings are related to ITERS-R/ECERS-R/SACERS-U. FREE.

Childcare Educational Services Trainings

This organization offers virtual trainings for a FEE and has been approved by DCDEE.

TRAINING POLICIES

• Pre-registration is required. Use the links above to register. Training links will be closed 2 days before the training.

• Classes are subject to cancellation unless a minimum number of attendees are registered 48 hours before the class.

• Trainings will be offered VIRTUALLY via ZOOM platform or in-person.

• For virtual trainings, links should be sent within 24 hours of the class. If you have not received a link by the day of the class, please contact our office at 336-751-2113 or email info@daviesmartstart.org

• Two “no-shows” with no explaination in one fiscal year, will result in being put on the waitlist for future trainings.

• Admittance is not allowed after the first 15 minutes of class.

• Certificates will be awarded at the end of class with completed surveys and evaluations and active participation.

• Kindness and respect for one another and the presenter are expected.

• Please be courteous and turn off your cell phone during the training. If you must take a phone call, please leave the training area.

• Children are not allowed in the training area & must be accompanied by an adult in the lobby at all times.

  CPR trainings are typically scheduled in the months of August, November, February and May.

  ITS-SIDS trainings are typically scheduled in the months of September, December, March and June.

TRAINING PAYMENT INFORMATION

• Smart Start of Davie County will continue to provide free training for teachers who serve children birth to five in Davie County, unless otherwise noted below*.

• If you must cancel, please remove yourself from the training sign up and contact the Smart Start Office at 336.751.2113 or info@daviesmartstart.org at least 3 business days prior to the meeting.

• A **$10 no-show fee will be charged to those that sign up for a class but do not attend. Space is limited in each class and no-shows take a training opportunity away from another child care professional.

$35: Davie County Providers ; $80: Out of County Providers

(Smart Start of Davie County pays a portion of the fees for educators who live OR work in Davie County)
